A meteorological database of time-series data, wind statistics and Wind Atlas data for 13 NREA stations at Abu Darag, Zafarana (3 stations), St. Paul, Ras Ghareb, Gulf of El-Zayt (4 stations), Hurghada WETC, Ras Sedr and El Tor is available separately.
The time-series of wind and other meteorological data cover the years 1991-2001 (Abu Darag, Zafarana and Hurghada), 1994-2001 (Gulf of El-Zayt) or 2000-01. Wind speed, wind direction, standard deviation of wind speed, gust wind speed, lull wind speed and air temperature were measured at all thirteen stations; in addition, the temperature gradient, barometric pressure and solar insolation were measured at Abu Darag, Gulf of El-Zayt and at the Hurghada Wind Energy Technology Center.
The wind statistics consist of observed (WAsP tab-files) and regional (WAsP lib-files) wind climates from the thirteen stations, as well as tables of 'mean wind speeds for each month and hour' and tables of 'mean wind speeds for each month and year'.
